No PICC LINE

Well, No PICC line for Emma.  They put it in and her heart had the arrhythmia episode again so they had to pull it out.  They said the episode happened solely due to the PICC line insertion.  She did not stay in the arrhythmia episode long which is good, but we would prefer not to have any episodes!  Miss Emma needs to some good days really soon!  It breaks my heart!

  2. Saying prayers for all of you, sweet girl! I can only imagine the frustration you feel at times. We will just pray that God will give wisdom to all the people trying to help Emma and give an extra dose of patience and understanding to you and Scott! Trust them and even more, trust the Lord!
    Love you,

  3. Hang in there! This is all SO frustrating when you see her losing weight and trying to figure out why the decisions that are being made are made; however, I will pray for the staff to make a concerted effort to agree and to think clearly on what is best, and most of all, to feed that granddaughter we love so much. And I will pray for strength for Scott and you. I'm sure, like us, you'd like for the hospital part of her journey to hurry and finish up for now, so she could be home with you...and more than that, that you could just hold her and calm her! God bless you all; I know this is a challenge!

  6. Dear Emma's Mommy and Daddy,

I have been following your blog on baby Emma since shortly after she was born. I had heard of your need for prayers through a friend of the family's.

I have to say that I have truly been touched by your faith and strength throughout these trying times. You are an inspiration to me and my family. However, it saddens me to find such an inspiration from such a heartbreaking situation.

I will continue to pray for Baby Emma, your family, the doctors and nurses, and the strength from within to keep you all going.

If I have fallen in love with Baby Emma and her wonderful parents, through your blog, I am sure anyone who knows of the situation will too. I have put out a prayer request for all of you.

As you always say, God is good! All the time!!

    With Deep Respect and Sympathy,

    A touched soul.

  7. Dear Emma's parents,

I just happened onto your blog site a week ago and have thought about and prayed for your baby girl since. I have an angel girl which happens to live in heaven now that was born with a neuro tube defect and lived for 2 sweet hours here on earth. We found out about her birth defect at our 18 week ultrasound and delivered at 34 weeks as I went into labor then. Something that really stood out to me on your page about Emma's story is that I recognized Dr. Doeden and Dr. Stanley's names. I am a nurse at Lakeside and so of course I know Doeden and Stanley. I just want you to know that a fellow mommy in OKC is thinking about yall! ~Jennifer

  9. I am a mother of six and cannot imagine the feelings you must be going through. As mothers, we are fiercly protective of our children and can't stand to see them hurt and in pain. How hard it must be to watch them poke and prod your little precious Emma, all the while knowing it needs to be done to help her get well! May the Lord bless you and your husband as you stand by your sweet daughters side!

  10. I was lead to your blog by Pendy Bowers because we have a heart baby, too. She is now three years old and thriving, but I remember the CICU days so well... you are going through so much, and my advice to you would be to lean on each other and God. Let people take care of you, and just be strong in your faith. Our little one, Annalee, had open heart surgery at 6 days old for Coarctation of the Aorta, and we had some real touch-and-go moments. I am available if you want to talk! It is hands down the hardest thing I've ever been through... but keep your chins up. Little girls are fighters! I have one to prove it :)
    Praying for all of you,
    Molly Huff

  12. Thank you Sarah for taking time to visit with us last night. It was so good to see you and hear about Emma. I know this is such a trying time for you all and my heart aches for you. Your faith is truly amazing and I admire you so much. You are a beautiful person, just like your mom. And, Scott, you have great genes too. We love you all and pray for you constantly.
